Robert Norman ‘Bob’ Ross was a beloved American painter, most well known as the host of PBS show The Joy of Painting which aired from 1983-1994.
Born in Daytona Beach - Florida, Ross spent twenty years in the Air Force before retiring to become a full-time painter. Known for his relaxing demeanour, Ross helped bring artistic inspiration to thousands of homes across the world, emphasising the message that anyone can paint.
Ross was diagnosed with lymphoma in the early 1990’s and passed away on 4th July 1995 at the age of 52.
